Investigating the a Relationship between Empowering Behaviors of Managers and Improving the Organizational Performance of Employees of Ilam University of Medical Sciences in 2019

Introduction: In today’s world which includes vast changes and transformations, the belief has been formed that managers can be effective in production and performance through motivating and empowering behaviors. Thus, it is possible to increase the productivity and efficiency of the organization. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of managers’ empowering behaviors on improving organizational performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between empowering behaviors of managers in improving organizational performance in 2019.
Methods: The statistical population included 280 employees of Ilam University of Medical Sciences. 162 people were selected as statistical samples using the Karajsi and Morgan tables. This research is applied in terms of purpose and it is descriptive-survey in terms of data collection. The data collection tool includes two questionnaires for managers’ empowering behaviors and improving organizational performance. SPSS-22 statistical software was used to analyze the data obtained from Pearson correlation method and regression test.
Results: In the study, 92.6% (150 people) were male and 7.4% (12) were female. The findings show that there is a significant relationship between managers’ empowering behaviors and organizational performance improvement (r = 0.845) at 99%. Therefore, participatory decision-making with a correlation coefficient of 0.705, information with a correlation coefficient of 0.749 and coaching with a correlation coefficient of 0.831 have a significant effect on improving organizational performance at 99%.
Conclusion: In general, the results of the present study are consistent with the relationship between empowering behaviors of managers and improving organizational performance with research conducted. It can be seen that in the community and the sample under consideration, the empowering behaviors of managers have greatly contributed to the improvement of organizational performance. Therefore, the managers of organizations must pay close attention to this issue in order to survive in today’s competitive world.
