Abstract: (3154 Views) |
Aims: The purpose of this study was to determine communication skills and its relationship with job
satisfaction in high school teachers in Ardabil.
Method: In this descriptive-correlational study, 217 out of 502 high school teachers of district 1 in Ardabil
in the academic year of 1395-96 based on multi-stage cluster sampling method and Morgan table were
selected. 210 samples were studied based on the collected questionnaires, questionnaire of communication
skills of Barton J, E (1990) and questionnaire of job satisfaction of Salanova and Schaufeli (2004). Pearson
correlation test, one way analysis of variance and multiple regression tests were used to analyze the data.
Results: The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between communication
skills and its components and job satisfaction and its components (p <0.01 and r = 0.643). Also, the results of
using multiple regression tests indicated that components of feedback and verbal skill had the highest effect
of 34 percent on the job satisfaction variable while listening skill component was not significant.
Conclusion: In general, the results of this research indicate that communication skills and job satisfaction
and their components are in agreement and it can be concluded that in the very sample, communication skills
have greatly contributed to the increase of teachers’ job satisfaction. Therefore, teachers need to revise their
communication skills and use effective communication methods in order to increase their job satisfaction. If
communication skills at schools are applied to job satisfaction, teachers’ job satisfaction will improve positively. |
