The Role of Scientific Optimism in the Teachers’
Empowerment

Objectives: The optimism, happiness, creativity, emotional intelligence, self- awareness and, hope are
the concepts that the positivist psychologists have addressed in recent decays. In this approach, the positive
aspects come up strongly and more significant in different aspects of human life, with the scientific views and
method. This study investigates the role of scientific optimism in teachers’ empowerment.
Method: This is a review article. The databases such as Scientific Information Databases, Magiran,
Science Direct, and Google Scholar were reviewed. In addition, the published resources such as the books
and papers were considered. The period of the literature review was 2016-2017.
Results: The scientific optimism is based on the collective self- efficacy; trust in the both parents and
students, and scientific infancies. These constructs have relationships with the socio-demographic status,
previous achievements, teacher attitude toward optimism, humanitarian classroom management and,
student-based teaching.
Conclusion: The culture of optimism will be increased with the school empowering structure. The
empowering structure relates to the management hierarchy, rules, and schools process. This structure will
increase the innovation, trust, and cooperation between the student and teacher. |
