Introduction: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between servant leadership and
organizational commitment in the employees of department education in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad.
Methods: This is a field study among 148 education’ staffs of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad The Morgan
table and stratified random sampling were the method of sampling. Instruments included servant leadership
and Meyer and Allen’s organizational commitment questionnaires, with the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient 0.88
and 0.82 respectively. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Correlation, One-way ANOVA, and Multiple
Regression’s tests.
Results: The results showed that between servant leadership and its components correlated with
organizational commitment level, significantly (r= 58, P<0.01). Also the level of employees’ education and
their perception of servant leadership style were not significant (F=146.2, P> 0.01).
Conclusion: Totally, the result of studies about Servant leadership and organizational commitment and
its components is consisted with other studies. So it can be said that servant leadership in our study has
an important role in organizational commitment. Therefore managers should reconsider their management
method to improve organizational commitment. The integration of servant leadership in education with
organizational commitment, have a positive effect on organizational commitment. |
