Fostering Creative Thinking through Philosophy-based Dialogue Skills for Children

Introdction: Philosophy can be used as a way to cultivate moral thinking, critical thinking, and creative
thinking. The aim of the present study is to investigate the development of creative thinking through philosophybased dialogue skills for children.
Methods: This Review article has been performed using creative thinking, conversation skills, and
philosophy for children keywords in various data bases including Humanities, Normex, Google Scholar,
Science direct, and Sage. Moreover, 22 articles were selected and analyzed.
Results: Children increase their logical thinking and creative thinking skills through group work. During
class discussions, children become acquainted with interaction and understanding with others, presenting
hypotheses, and expressing opinions. Philosophy for Children is a program to increase the skill of critical and
creative thinking in understanding their philosophical issues.
Conclusion: Based on the research findings, the importance of philosophical discussions in children in
strengthening creative discussions, it is recommended that educational authorities pay attention to the issue
of fostering children’s creative thinking through dialogue skills.
