Therefore, the present study aimed to analyze and rank the characteristics of a good teacher from the viewpoint of students at Allameh Tabataba’i University. Method: This research was conducted in a survey method and descriptive research type. The statistical population of this study was 316 students of Allameh Tabataba’i University. Data were collected using a twopart questionnaire whose validity and reliability were investigated. Students’ views about the good academic qualities were studied in a five-point Likert scale scanner. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software. T-test, Kruskal-Wallis and Friedman tests were used in the current study. Results: The findings showed that more than half of the students (61.9%) were women and the rest (38.1%) were men. About 90 percent of undergraduate and postgraduate students were in the Ph.D. According to students’ viewpoints, five qualities of good teachers were the mastery of the subject on the subject with an average of 4.84, Preserving Personality and Respecting Students with an average of 4.67, an attempt to convey the course and respond to student questions with an average 4.66), fair judgment and justice in dealing with the student (4.61), and the criticism and logic of the professor were ranked with an average of 4.51 respectively. Conclusion: Based on the findings, the mastery of the subject is more important than other features among the five characteristics good teacher. Since faculty members are considered as the most significant components of the educational system and they provide a background for the growth of learners to provide the country’s specialist workforce to achieve development, this issue should be considered by authorities and practitioners in attracting faculty members and training programs to empower faculty members. }, URL = {http://nama.ajaums.ac.ir/article-1-316-en.html}, eprint = {http://nama.ajaums.ac.ir/article-1-316-en.pdf}, journal = {Bi-quarterly Journal of Educational Studies NAMA}, doi = {}, year = {2019} }
