The Role of Hope in the Recovery of Pervasive Diseases (With Emphasis on Coronavirus (COVID 19) in Iran)

Introduction: Coronavirus (COVID 19) disease is an unknown disease and medical science has not been able to find a suitable treatment for it. Preventive discussions all emphasize being away from society and being at home. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of hope in the recovery of pervasive diseases (with emphasis on coronavirus (COVID 19) in Iran).
Methods: This research is a narrative review. Its documents have been collected through reference to the library, as well as scientific sites and research conducted in this field.
Results: The findings of this study show that hope plays an important role in the recovery of pervasive diseases, that is, the higher the hope of patients, the better they tolerate the problems caused by disease and treatment. The result of this study also show that hope in patients increases self-care, emotional balance, positive mood, mental health, a positive response to medical interventions, and even patients understand that they have freedom and responsibility and they are able to go beyond their environment. Grow and grow despite the environmental conditions. Another finding of this study was that hope accelerates the healing process. Patients gain new experience and create new strengths in patients.
Conclusion: Coronavirus (COVID 19) is unknown disease and there is no cure for it currently. Therefore, according to the results of the present study, psychological factors such as hope help the patient to overcome this difficulty. Having hopeful thinking increases positive and purposeful thoughts in life, which affects the quality of life in various dimensions.
