Abstract:   (4074 Views)

Background: Interaction is considered a necessary, and integral part in all forms of distance learning and
web -based learning environments. That how much technologies can support and help interactions is one of
the most important issues that should be considered in the web-based environment. These interactions seek
to engage students with other students, teachers and also non-human contexts.
Objective and Method: The aim of this study is to provide the pedagogical principles of interactional
theories in distance learning and also to explain Anderson’s pattern in web-based learning environments. In
this web-based study the method of analytic-review is used.
In this study, first of all, the concept of interaction and forms of interaction in distance learning theories such
as the theory of long-distance exchange of Michael Moore, Garrison and Anderson interaction equilibrium
theory, the control theory, interaction theory and the theory of dialogue Gordon Paske and Holmberg have
been discussed and finally, Anderson’s interaction pattern has been explained.
Based on this paper it can be concluded that teachers, trainers and also people who are engaged in
educating in electronic environments in order to access effective and training learning should be acquainted
with interactional theories of distance learning and web-based environments and also different forms of
communication and bilateral interaction between pedagogical elements. They also should reach the goal of
education i.e effective learning by choosing and using appropriate tools and methods of interaction.
Keywords: interactional theories, distance learning, teaching- learning
