Explaining the Current and Ideal Situation of the Education Development Centers from the Perspective of Faculty Members: A Quantitative Study

Introduction: Since the education development center are the masterminds in the body of higher education in medical universities, the purpose of this study was to examine the current and ideal situation of the education development centers from university faculty members’ perspective.
Methods: The present study is a descriptive cross-sectional study that was conducted in 1396 at the level of medical education study and development centers in the country. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire whose validity was confirmed by experts and its reliability was confirmed by Cornbach’s alpha. The sample size was obtained by Cochran’s formula of 1308 people. Data were analyzed using descriptive test through SPSS software version 16.
Results: The results of the study showed that, based on the faculty members’ point of view, the current situation of education and development centers in the studied areas is unfavorable with an average of 2.04. In addition, the ideal situation of functions and roles is favorable with an average of 3.23 the situation.
Conclusion: The findings of the present study recommended that each education development centers use the results of this study to improve the current situation, their performance and duties.
